Dr. Julie Bernell has been in private practice since 1996. She loves being an Ob/Gyn and appreciates being able to care for women throughout different phases of their lives. Dr. Bernell believes the highest compliment that can be received from a patient is the referral of a friend or family member, and she feels rewarded to assist her patients’ mothers, daughters and sisters with their health and wellness needs. A dedicated mother herself, Dr. Bernell’s compassion and sensitivity make her a caring doctor who listens to your concerns.
Dr. Bernell completed her residency and internship at Baylor College of Medicine in 1996 after graduating from Baylor College of Medicine in 1992. Before medical school, Dr Bernell graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University in Medford, Massachuttes with a Bachelor of Science degree with studies in Biopsychology.
Dr. Bernell has been recognized and awarded throughout her training and private practice. She received the award, Resident of the Year in 1993-1994, The Woman of Achievement award in 2000, America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists award in 2004, 2005 and 2012.
Dr. Bernell is board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Montgomery County Medical Association and Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Lauren Hoffman Hernandez has a passion for women's health and strives to deliver the highest level of care to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, from routine office gynecology to normal and high risk pregnancy care, and complex gynecologic surgery. She sees it as an honor to care for women during pregnancy, through labor and delivery, and in the postpartum period. Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery is a special interest of hers, which enables patients to promptly recover and achieve a higher quality of life. She treats each woman with compassion, considering all aspects of each patient's life.
Dr. Hernandez was the valedictorian of Kingwood High School's 2003 graduating class. She then completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Notre Dame, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2007. She returned to Texas for medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she received the Houston Gynecological and Obstetrical Society's Outstanding Medical Student award. After completion of medical school in 2011, she moved to Chicago for her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. Graduating from residency in 2015, she received The Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology Rising Star award, and joined the faculty at Loyola, where she practiced for two years. She is thrilled to return to her hometown of Kingwood with her family and practice obstetrics and gynecology at Northeast OB/GYN Associates.
Jessica Monk is the outstanding Physician Assistant (PA) at Northeast OB/GYN Associates since 2009. Working as a member of our health care team, Jessica prides herself in her exceptional diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health care services.
Jessica graduated from Baylor College of Medicine with a Master of Science, Physician Assistant Studies in 2008. Before attending Baylor College of Medicine, Jessica graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts with studies in Biology in 1999. Jessica received her certification from The Texas Physician Assistant Board in 2009 and her license from The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2009. She is a member of The American Academy of Physician Assistants and The Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and The Robert Luchi Society-Baylor College of Medicine PA Society.
